Welcome to Finca Don Leandro

A working family finca set in the lush mountains above Medellín, Antioquia. Just a short ride from the city, the farm opens its gates to visitors who want to see (and taste) Colombian coffee at the source. Expect warm hospitality, honest farm life, and panoramic views of the Aburrá Valley.

Your visit follows coffee’s full journey, from cherry to cup.

Depending on the season, you may walk among the trees, pick ripe cherries, and see how beans are depulped, fermented, washed, and dried on patios or raised beds. Guides explain varieties commonly grown in Antioquia (such as Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia), altitude influences, and how careful processing shapes flavor.

The experience ends with a guided tasting (cupping) and a brewing demo.

You’ll learn to evaluate aroma, body, sweetness, and acidity—and how different methods (V60, Chemex, French press) bring out different notes. Freshly roasted beans are available to take home, often small lots roasted on-site.

Between activities there’s time to relax:

photograph the scenery, stroll the trails, or chat with the team about farm life and harvest traditions. Many guests add a light farm-style lunch or snack and linger in the shade with a cup of the farm’s own brew.
