What the experience includes

Your day starts at a traditional finca. A guide dresses you with the classic gear: hat, poncho, and carriel. Then you meet the mules and learn how arrieros loaded coffee and goods for days on the trail. Right away, the past becomes tangible.

From load to trail

First, you practice tying the cargo with simple knots. Next, you help saddle a mule under safe supervision. After that, you follow an old muleteer path through forest and farms. The pace is calm, with stops for views and photos. Along the way you hear legends, trade routes, and how the arrieros shaped Antioquia.

Coffee from seed to cup

Back at the farm, the focus turns to coffee. You visit the nursery, pick ripe cherries, and see pulping, fermentation, and drying. Then a short roasting demo shows how heat changes aroma and taste. Finally, a guided tasting helps you compare sweetness, acidity, and body in a fresh brew.

Food and culture

Because culture is food as well, you enjoy a country-style lunch. Expect local staples like beans, plantain, arepa, and farm cheese. During the meal the guide shares music, sayings, and small rituals from the muleteer world. It feels like visiting old friends.
