Description

Finca Buenos Aires Salento — hands-on coffee tour

Finca Buenos Aires sits on a hillside near Salento with wide views of the Coffee Cultural Landscape. The visit is intimate and practical. You learn directly from a local family and move at an easy pace.

What to expect

Your guide starts in the nursery. You handle a chapola seedling and see how young trees grow. Then you walk the plots and compare varieties, shade, altitude, and soil. Scenic stops make room for photos and questions.

The process you’ll try

First, you harvest ripe cherries with a basket at your waist. Next, you weigh the fruit and use a hand pulper. Then the guide explains fermentation, washing, and careful drying on raised beds. Finally, you see hand selection and learn how defects change the cup.

Guided tasting and farm coffee

After the fieldwork, you grind and brew fresh coffee side by side with your guide. You compare sweetness, acidity, and body using simple methods. As a result, you leave knowing how farm coffee differs from commercial blends. You can buy freshly roasted beans to take home.
