Description
Located in the heart of Quindío, within Colombia’s Coffee Region, this non-profit initiative—founded on February 24, 1995 by the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia and the Quindío Departmental Coffee Committee—exists to showcase how coffee drives culture, economy, and community. The park invites visitors to learn in a natural, fun, and safe setting and to honor the resilience of Colombia’s coffee growers.
Your visit is a deep dive into the Coffee Cultural Landscape. It blends fun, scenery, culture, adrenaline, coffee, art, architecture, tradition, gastronomy, and outdoor recreation, creating a full-day experience for families and friends—and one that has earned the park recognition among the top parks in Latin America.
Coffee Museum:
Begin at the Coffee Museum, a three-room, interactive journey:
- Room 1 – Origin & Cultivation: Walk through the work of coffee growers on their fincas, from planting and care to harvesting and post-harvest.
- Room 2 – Coffee Culture: Step into an authentic, colorful coffee-town setting. Customs, traditions, and architecture make it a perfect place for photos and storytelling.
- Room 3 – Commerce & Industry: Follow the bean’s path from local sale to export, and learn how Colombian coffee reaches the world.
Coffee Sensory Room
In the Sensory Room, trained guides lead a hands-on exploration of aroma, flavor, and texture. Whether you’re a casual drinker or a devoted coffee fan, you’ll learn what makes a cup of Colombian coffee truly special. Taste coffee produced in the park and discover how different profiles emerge from variety, process, and roast.
Coffee Trail (Sendero del Café)
Take a self-guided trail through coffee fields shaded by native vegetation and rich biodiversity. Along the way you’ll encounter:
* A carefully crafted replica of a Quimbaya cemetery (sculpted with the Barranquismo technique), offering a window into indigenous heritage.
* A historic arriería bridge, inspired by the iconic Puente de Pensilvania in Caldas—symbol of trade and connection in the region.
At the end of the trail, an interpreter walks you through the coffee process, from seed to industry, revealing how a simple cherry becomes a world-renowned product.
Coffee Show (Show del Café)
Settle in for the 40-minute Coffee Show—a high-energy production of dance, song, and acrobatics. Nearly 30 artists carry you on a journey from north to south across Colombia. Costumes, lighting, and a soundtrack that blends traditional and contemporary music create a vibrant tribute to the country’s cultural diversity.
The Art of Coffee (El Arte del Café)
In this 25-minute barista-theater performance, the craft of coffee preparation becomes a stage piece. See selection, grinding, and brewing turned into choreography; compare traditional and modern methods; and leave with practical tips for recreating an exceptional cup at home.
